For BEAR the electrical power system (EPS) has been reworked due to adaptation of the system. A new battery (LiMn 24V / 10.2Ah) with higher energy density and much lower weight was chosen. All internal power buses (3.3V, 5V, 12V) have their own voltage regulator and can be controlled individually via the onboard computer. A well-marked battery main switch is used as an emergency stop switch and motor driven subsystems can be switched off by the user via external switches, without the computer units being switched off. In addition, CMOS switches, which can be controlled by the on-board computer, are used for all external supply buses. For all supply buses, energy consumption is monitored by current sensors.
